Is It Advisable For My Webinar To Have Panelists?

Robert Plank asked:

A typical thing that is usually missed with webinars is the competence to get a panelist on a website seminar. Actually, it is possible to have more than a panelist on a webinar. You cannot tone down people. The screen can be transferred to people. You can give people access to the questions and begin surveys; the most interesting aspect is when all these panelists are having a conference together, the software of webinar begins with “Now speaking” and followed by the name of the panelist, by so doing the speaker’s voice is well recognized. Now, can we say that your webinar really needs panelists or co-host?

Panelists are beneficial but they are not necessary. It is advisable for you to be independent. Let your partner be dependent on you and not you on him or her on a webinar. Always be sensitive about whom you unmute on a webinar. If you are doing webinar by yourself, be bold enough to do it by yourself without relying on another person’s webinar account. I have done several webinars in which I worked with a panelist and one of our PC was down in this case, there might be connection break down or crashment of webinar software. At this point, I desperately required somebody to fill in the gap.

It is recommended that there must be 2 people that are individually independent to operate a webinar. If at all you want to be in partnership, then it will be much easier to get one. If things are not urgur well between your partner and you, to get another one will not be a problem because it will not have any effect. You can do a webinar in the absence of your partner. Also, your partner might also like to be in the website seminar in order not to be left out.

The service of panelists is not required all the time. Anywhere that the panelists linked me up to those that opted to him, I always put on my calls for the subscribers till the end of the seminar. More so, I put on my calls in which the panelists throw some questions to me and I attempted all. Be mindful of the subscribers that you are speaking with. Though it might look simple but there are some strange things happening online, for there are some troublesome people in a webinar. Even if the subscriber has genuine thoughts and I open up to speak with him or her, the person might not be on the right side with the microphone and this can cause echo or unnecessary noise from background. Beware of the person you will talk to on webinar in order to avoid all these mistakes. Ensure that the person you unmute is reliable enough to operate on webinar. When the webinar is on, the person must not have the headset or phone on for their audio.

The effectiveness of panelists on webinar is wonderful but their services are not necessarily needed. Be independent! Emphasize it on the webinar that you don’t need panelists’ services to operate your webinar and also that to unmute the subscriber to call is unnecessary.

How to Create a Webinar

Tom Cruz asked:

Creating a webinar is similar to the preparation that is needed for a live seminar A good webinar, like a good lecture, involves a lot of serious planning before the person faces their actual audience.

In recent years webinars have been given a lot of positive press and although they are not difficult to create, they can be time consuming. You can run a webinar in the same way as you would run an ordinary lecture. Students need to have read certain material and hopefully, by the end of the webinar will have acquired new skills.

Your planning should be laid out in your objectives and learning at the seminar can be increased It’s a good idea to settle on a budget for your webinar that takes into account the cost of the Webinar software. You will soon discover that webinars are a much more cost effective way of dealing with staff training and development and for gathering together employees from many different locations.

As business owners realise the effectiveness of webinars in terms of time and cost. It is much cheaper to conduct webinars that are visible to all of your employees and it also makes better use of employee’s time as they are not spending hours traveling to seminar. If you are going to create a successful webinar then in your plan you may want to include ideas for having speakers deliver part of the message. You may also want to think about using co-presenters and to identify the websites that you may want your audience to look at as part of the webinar.

You may also need to think about the processes of promotion and getting participants informed of the seminar. A webinar may take a bit more planning than the usual seminar as you are relying on technology to put your plans into practice. Webinars, just like seminars, benefit from feedback and from surveying what aspects of a particular presentation participants enjoyed the most. You may find that a particular theme or phrase stands out from the rest of the webinar and may be useful in future presentations. It is possible to build a whole webinar around a particular phrase that has caught people’s attention.

When you first start using webinars for training and development it takes time to get used to the new media, just as a few years ago everyone had to get used to the idea of taking their material with them for Power Point presentations in a different location. You may have to work the first few seminars gathering as well as giving out information. It is well worth letting senior sales team members conduct webinars from time to time as they can use it to improve their own selling performance.

Webinars are a good way to ensure that your company workforce is better informed about current business practice than those of your competitors.

How Can Webinar Software Help Your Business?

Tom Cruz asked:

Gone are the days where seminars have to be held in conference rooms of a hotel. Gone are the days when only certain people within a local vicinity can attend. Now, with webinar software, you can reach millions at once, all across the world. If you live in Washington state and you have potential attendees in New York, you have no problems in displaying your message throughout the country thanks to webinar software.

This type of software is taking its place or even replacing traditional conferences and meetings. Any person wishing to reach their targeted audience in the best possible manner makes use of webinars and its software programs. The great thing about this software is that it is not hard to learn and use, nor does it have to cost a fortune, which makes it really easy on your initial budget.

There are many software programs out there that are easy to use and affordable. Many of these programs offer everything you need for a successful webinar. For example, the software program might include:

o Registration Plans

o Delivery of the Webinar

o Recording of The Webinar

o Email Templates

o Toll-Free options for conference calls

o Practice Sessions

o Branding

These are just some of the features that you can enjoy with software for webinars. All of these are essential elements to a successful webinar. With this software, you can enjoy an all in one interface that takes you from registration and down the road towards delivery. All of this with one, easy to use, easy to understand software program.

The great thing about webinar programs is that it saves your business a great deal of money, time, and hassles. Let’s look at some of the hassles of having to organize a traditional seminar:

o Handouts

o Travel

o Accommodations For Organizers and Employees that Attend

o Booking The Conference Room

o Accommodations For Speakers

o Manual Registration

Now all of this is just the hassles, it does not include the time and money spent:

o Time it takes to Travel

o Costs of Travel

o Costs of Rentals

o Time it takes to set up the conference room

o Cost of multiple Employees Time

With a web conferencing software , these are almost obsolete hassles, time consumption, and costs. Webinars can be held right from your office, no travel is necessary for anyone, and all for so much less money than traditional methods.

If you are considering a webinar, you should definitely be considering a webinar program. It can save your business a great deal of worry and hassle by making everything seamless and easy.

5 Tips For Holding a Great Technical Writing Webinar

Ugur Akinci asked:

Pay attention to the following 5 suggestions if you’d like to hold a successful technical writing webinar:

1) Do not rush your technical writing or product presentation even if you are used to speaking at a machine gun pace. There might be people in your audience with hearing problems, international participants who do not know your language that well, or there might be a technical problem with the way your voice is transmitted across the line.

How do you know if you’re talking too fast? JUST ASK and your audience will tell you gladly if you are speaking too fast (or too slow) or not.

2) If you have a hard-to-understand heavy regional accent, either ask someone else with a standard accent to give the presentation, or SLOW down and periodically check with your audience to make sure they are following what you are saying.

If you just assume that your accent is understood clearly by those on the line, you might be making a wrong assumption and wasting everybody’s time and your company’s money.

3) If you provide the means (usually a GUI text field with a SUBMIT button at the bottom) for your audience to send you questions, answer them. If you are not in a position to answer the questions, then do not provide the means to submit any questions. Otherwise you’ll be speaking to a frustrated audience and frustrated people don’t follow or buy anything. It just makes plain sense, doesn’t it?

4) Always make it painfully clear well in advance WHAT you will exactly cover in your presentation, for WHOM the presentation was designed, and what are the PREREQUISITES to follow the presentation fruitfully.

Make all these three points very clear in your advance emails in order to prevent unnecessary surprises. There is nothing more annoying than a fast-talking presenter showing you things on a piece of software that you do not even own and explaining a topic that is well beyond your education or expertise level.

5) Inform you audience before, during, and after the presentation whether the recording of the session, any presentation notes, PDF files or white-paper will be available to the participants. That way you won’t leave them in suspense and prevent unnecessary emails and phone calls to your organization.

A webinar is a great way to share knowledge and to market your products and services. But when handled poorly it can backfire and damage your image and business as well. There is no such thing as a fool-proof presentation “on the automatic.”

All webinars need careful advance work and a thoughtful presentation which is in touch with the audience. If you follow these 5 recommendations above your job might get just a bit easier. Good luck.

Web Conferencing

Peter Cullen asked:

Now web conferencing is not brand new, but this was actually my first personal experience with it, and it got me thinking about how fast things have changed. Just a few years ago I was travelling all over the world to accomplish similar things. The travel was interesting, but I think the days of hopping planes to install software are over…or soon to be. The ease with which the task was accomplished with nobody leaving their desks was amazing. I think once you experience this, you won’t be able to imagine why anyone would do this any other way.

Of course, installing software is only one of the things that such conferencing allows you to do. Meetings, training, sales presentations, and collaborations of any sort fit right in, and corporate workplaces are not the only venue in which such tools can be used. Internet marketers are starting to realize the power of the approach. Teleconferences have been a popular marketing tool for sometime, and webcasts and webinars are becoming more and more popular. A webcast usually refers to a one-way broadcast from presenter to audience, while a webinar usually involves two way communication – the audience can respond – typically through a telephone, although many service providers are starting to bundle in voice communication with their web services.

Imagine you’re marketing an information product on the web. Want to demonstrate it’s virtues
to your leads? Well, it’s very easy to do. Purchase a one-time meeting package from the vendor of
your choice, send the web address of the meeting page to your leads, set up voice access either
with the vendor, or through another teleconferencing service, and off you go! Your leads can ask questions and watch on their computer while you wax eloquent about your product…think that might boost sales?

The web conferencing vendor I used for the software upgrade provides a hosted solution, which means
that there is no software to install locally and no servers to maintain – all you need is a web browser and a telephone. You can have a shared screen meeting anytime you want to with virtually no local set up work at all. In fact, during our software upgrade, a question came up that required the knowledge of one of the programmers that wrote the system, who happened to work in different state. One phone call, and he joined the online meeting from his computer, took a look at the problem, fixed it, and off we went.

Recall that I mentioned above that most services allow the “presenter” to take control of the desktops of the “audience”. Imagine how simple this makes it to show your audience how a software product works – think of the travel and accommodation expenses that can be eliminated. Some corporations report saving literally millions of dollars each year by reducing travel expenses with web conferencing.

If your company hasn’t taken the plunge yet, it’s time you took a look. If you’re selling on the
Internet, think about how these tools can affect your bottom line.
