Skype has a client for linux, windows and mac. not to say mobile phones, that is your best bet.It compresses the images and video so the bandwidth is minimum.

A leadership team for The Visual Communications Industry Group (VCI-Group) attended Elliot Gold’s seventh annual TeleSpan Future of Conferencing Workshop last week, March 15-16, in Las Vegas. The team made up of; Stephen Demmings, VCI-Group President; Cornell University, and Directors, Toni Alonso of North Shore LIJ Health Systems, and Douglas Pearson, directly participated in two key industry panels; UC Challenges and Opportunities 2012 and Beyond and Videoconferencing Hardware is Dead, Long Live Videoconferencing Hardware, and helped other industry leaders more fully understand the Future of Conferencing from an end user’s point of view.

During these sessions, members of the VCI-Group leadership team were given an opportunity to help videoconferencing providers and manufacturers understand the pressing issues that impact deployment and adoption of videoconferencing in large enterprises and in the health care and distance learning industries. Additionally, the leadership team was able to explore the impact of social networking as well as network security, BYOD, government regulation, product and services adoption, mobility, pricing and related topics and issues important to VCI-Group membership and stakeholders.
